This may not be much help, but I have a 1940 s Mercury dime in same condition that is only worth a few dollars.I believe the1916d,1921p,1921d,1942/41,1942/41d carry more significant value in high grades.someone will probably respond for you soon,sn31.

Hi Laxmaster

Mercs are my favorites !!

The pics are very small and the details needed to grade a merc are small to begin with.

Please see if you can enlarge the pic a bit, if you have trouble let me know and I will see if I can help .

Hi Lax

I enlarged the scans but they didnt like it !!! ,, I will see if I can clear them up a bit if not then I will ask for emailed scans,, instead of dragging them off the forum that might help.

I cannot make out the center bands on the back of the coin they are right in a glare spot ,,this is an important grading point for the Merc's !!

The coin looks very nice, in the MS-63 64 range if the center bands are fully split and nicely rounded this coin could see an estimated value of 40 to 50 dollars. This is an estimated retail value,, actual realised value will probly be a little less, 30 to 35.00 deoending on interest in this particular coin.

if the bands dont make FSB then the coins value would be 10 to 15.00 range in the grades above.

Thanks metalman. I can the get the scans any clearer but by looking at the bands on the back they are as clear as a whistle. Everything on the back is very very very well defined. No scratches or anything. Looks almost proof like lol
