I have a 1969 S Jefferson Proof. However, I am unable to find the metal composition. By the "Red Book," the prewar composition ended in 1967. And, I believe, silver use stopped in 1964. So, does a 1969 S Jefferson have the same metal composition as today's Jeffersons? The " Red Book" also doesn't breakdown "modern" (post 1967) era Jeffersons' metal composition.

Thank you.

Stephen.

The composition of the nickels have been pretty much the same since the Shield nickel...75% copper 25% nickel (with the exception of the 1942-1945 War Nickels!
