Well I consider him an expert. He has found a lot of them and still looks for them. But I will let his words tell the story.
From last email I received yesterday:
Quote:
Gosh, I'm no expert. I just save them all and have 684 different (with duplicates up to five of some).
When 2X2 envelope gets full, I roll the rest when I get a tube full. I sold 70 rolls two years ago and
have 56 more saved up. I have no plans on doing anything with them. Too bad they never took off
like the 09FY doubled fingers, thumbs, and warts did. I cannot see a way to do them like the big
attributors did the FY's. It could be done, but would have to be done by a more ambitious person than I.
We're looking at marker pictures on 684 pennies? No way! A three or four volumn book or CD? No
way! I Do like to find the doubled columns with doubled knees and feet on the pennies. That's a
double whammy. I don't even have a camera anymore and am winding down my collecting due to
not finding anything worthwhile. I just get old worn out and deseased looking zinc discs. Skin
cancer. Leperosy. I have my numbering system on doubled columns, but I started it before I figured
out it would have to be expanded, so it's chopped up in places,.should start at the very bottom or very
top. I started at the bottom, then started at the bottom again and ended up all 45 positions at the bottom
again. That's 45 on left and 45 on right columns, then multiply all that times 1996 through 2008 P and D.
That's a lot of empty holes. And I very much feel ALL positions (no matter how minor) must be included,
or it wouldn't be a set. Such as HAND ONLY (as an example of minor) to BELOW FOOT TO ABOVE HEAD
(as an example of major). All of them should be included. I feel they have no value same as I feel the
doubled warts and thunbnails have no value on the 09's. It's just a hobby, Coop.
You may forward my response here to others if you wish, I don't care. I'm still looking for them but they
are sooooo far and in between.
Bill
I'm still sending the ones I find as he lives on the other side of the country. Maybe I'll find some he doesn't have yet. Every now and then I find stuff he has already found, or sometimes something new.
