Found a 1916-D on ebay a little while ago, and with all the talk of the TPG's being more conservative, I thought I would post it. So do you think this has been graded correctly?

I agree with the grade though it might be a bit conservative. Usually, the TPG's are accused of being rather liberal with the rarer coins.

I think it could have been graded a little higher G-6.

With those bold reverse rims and full D and motto I would say G6. nlp

I would grade this nice 16D as a G6.
I think it's undergraded at G4.

It looks like it is slightly under graded.
G-6 is about right

I'm admittedly a noob on Mercs, but my first impression was a G6 too.

I agree with G-6. It still shows some wear in the tops of the reverse lettering, which takes it out of the VG range imo. Very nice merc!

Yeah, I thought maybe it could be a G-4 but I was thinking G-6. But do you think PCGS would grade it higher than G-4?

The auction states "very conservatively graded" and I disagree.

G-6 is the best this coin could legitimately be graded. That said, it is a nice G-4 that could get a CAC sticker.

Not likely. It has a shot at G-6 but the rim on the reverse is gone from 2:00 to 6:00 with heavy wear into the lettering. My guess is PCGS would cross it but not upgrade it.
