Hi everyone,

I just wanted to make a post so that you all would know that Bobby and I are still around. We closed on our house in Delaware last Thursday and have been working on it ever since. We were going to wait until tomorrow afternoon to go back down, but it looks like we're going to be leaving tonight instead.

I'm sorry that I haven't been very accessible, but once we get moved in (around the 22nd of June) it will be a lot better. Unfortunately, we don't have internet service down there yet, so I have to wait until we get that and move the computers down.

Hope everyone is enjoying the forum. I am keeping in touch with what is going on through Richard and Mike.

You were gone?

I feel your pain. We were five weeks between closing and moving in when we bought ours last year. Solid house, but TOWMBO decreed that we change everything. We painted every surface, laid 5 rooms of laminate and vinyl on everything else, changed every switch, outlet and plate in the place (OK, that was my idea), installed 5 new ceiling fans and new doors front and back.

Oh, yeah - we routed, sanded, stained and installed 1500 board feet of custom pine trim, too.

Our agent says we put $30k worth of equity in the place in 5 weeks. Now she wants me to do the kitchen.

Good Luck with all the moving. I thought you had already moved. *sigh*. I know how hard it is and how much time it takes. Hope all gets settled soon.

Enjoy the new house.

It's a lot of work. The walls have 33 years worth of nicotine dripping from them on top of semi-gloss paint so every wall surface has to be sanded well, then washed, then primed, thaen 2 coats of paint. Yuk.

The hardwood floors then have to be completely sanded, stained, and sealed.

The kitchen is also trapped in the 70's and has to be redone so our eyes don't ache.

We'll be closing on a house in a few weeks. Then we get to do the "move" thing. It does take a lot of time to get everything situated, an ohhhh, the stress of it all!

I know that Susan can handle that part, but what are you going to be doing while she is finishing these chores?

Have a safe and sane move and relocation. see you soon! Your missed!
