If it comes off in lighter fluid, it'll come off in any kind of organic solvent. That's "organic" in the chemical sense - acetone, alcohol, methylated spirits, gasoline... they'll all do much the same job. Acetone seems to work fastest. Pure acetone won't leave a residue behind, but the diluted, contaminated stuff sold as "paint thinner" and "nail polish remover" might have dissolved solids that leave a residue.
