I am by no means an expert but that mint mark just doesn't look right to me. I am going to say adds mintmark.

For your sake I hope I am wrong!

Reading this tread inspired me to take my 1916-D to the dealer dealer and get it PCGS . When I posted it a year ago(search "1916D Dime or Memorex") most thought it looked good in G4, we will see.

You mean this post?

You are right, almost exactly a year ago (minus ten days)!

You know... I'm no expert either, but I'm going to agree with morgantype, the mint mark doestn't look right to me also.

I also hope I'm wrong, and cyclone has a $10,000.00 dollar coin.

The link to the pictures on a photobucket account is for an expired account.

I thought why not, it's only been loose for last 93 years lol.

I'll re-post the photos once graded in a separate thread.

The dealer did say that 90% of 1916D that come in look like mine and are hard to tell if it's real, or not.

Finally got the results! The verdict is: it's real, AU55!
If you want to see the results, it's order #20359265 on the PCGS shared orders list.
