I found this quarter while roll searching and noticed it has a strange rim. It looks like the entire rim is curling in. What would make this coin look like this? Is this some sort of minor capped die thing?

Might have spent some time spinning in a dryer.

I thought it might've been a dryer too, but the reverse of the coin is in perfect condition. If it were a dryer wouldn't both sides be affected?

Not a Dryer Coin. Not sure but maybe a deteriorated die?

Dryer coin. Note very little reeding on the coin, it has been flattened and rolled over the edge.

I've seen this before. It looks like a chipping of the die and wear on the collar. Never gave them a second look as they are too minor to be interesting. Happens from time to time.
