Found three interesting LMC's today, I hope you find them interesting too. Here is the first one. This looks like a bar on column 7, what do you all think? Thanks, John1
John, took the liberty of turning your picture upright. With the optical illusion of the of the pillars being sunken into the coin and the fields raised, I can't say. Maybe someone else will see it differently.
I have a real hard time seeing it as it looks like the bays are raised, just opposite than they really should be. But the year tells me a different story. The bar columns are found on the single squeeze coins. This started in the 1985-earlier coins. A coin from the 1960's would not have a bar as they were hubbed several times. The coin in the post looks like die abrasion. The line (that appears to be a bar) is in correct alignment as the vertical of the normal column. With wear on the devices shallow end to remove clashes, it makes it appear as a bar. Note the thinnest of column 6. (The only way I can get the column to appear raised is by looking at the supposed bar area and then viewing it as part of a column it straightens out in my eyes.)
