I just purchased a 1911. That along with the 1912 in my collection means I'm about 15% done! I've posted the 12 a while back, but I't was in mixed company.

Nice Johnny "Countdown"!

I'm always jealous of your collections!

Have you found a way to display them? I know the Dansco folks don't have a book for any gold coins. I find it pretty irritating.

By the way, nice choice of coin type to collect. They're my favorite design. Note my avatar!!
Rest in Peace

Thanks guys! As far as display goes, since I will be purchasing them in slabs, I will probably just leave them in the slabs. Kind of boring, but I like the idea of having a "certified" set of something since most of them I've been cracking out. Any opinions on grade of these two?

Moe

You can buy blank pages that these will fit in from Dansco but not any with the fancy writing. I also think you can buy blank albulm.

True. I would have to make sure the holes are the correct size. Blank sheets would certainly work with a generic album.

You would think the Dansco folks would design one though. There probably is not a lot of demand for these, though.

I would think most folks, like our Johnny54321, would protect their investment with slabbed coins and forgo the Dansco book anyway.

Oh, well. I have other coins I need to collect before I refocus on the gold coins.

Please, leave some for me Johnny Countdown! (And post pictures continuously!)

im thinking about starting to collect these as well, they are probably the easiest classic gold series to complete with only one key.

Just an FYI:

The Five dollar gold coins don't seem to be much more expensive than the $2.5s.

I don't know why.

(And you get more gold...)

These are also extremely heavily counterfeited. Be careful.
