Hi Mike

there are a couple of publications which can help.

photograde and or PCGS grading guide .

along with those and some pictures the members here can help you with the finer points of grading the coins.

Post images of your coins here, there are several of us that would be able to give you a general idea as to what the coins might grade. It's best to post one or two coins at a time.

Maybe not the most explicit explanations but since the Red Book by Whitman Publishing is so popular, the 2010 edition on pate 9 gives a decent explantion of coin conditions. A book that should help out with the basics. As to values, that is the one book you should not use though. But if you do, just deduct about 25% of what it shows. If your not an expert, not planning on selling those coins, only want an idea of values, the Red Book should help a lot.
I'm a rather lousy grader of coins but since I do not sell them, makes little difference if I'm off a little here and there. Still it is nice to have an idea of what they are worth.

both series are beautiful and there are special dates and variety's to look for
which increase values greatly...enjoy the project...it may turn you into a coin
collector...PS this is a good time to cash in on poor quality silver coins which
has higher melt values...Good luck!
