I have a 1982-D 250th Anniversary Birthday Washington 50c Coin. Coin has been graded by PCGS and is an MS69. From my research the PCGS website shows that MS69 is the highest grading that has been done for this coin. It lists the value at $550.

My slab has additional text on it that I can not find on any other slabs of this coin. The additional text is above the bar code and it reads "Series: 1002 Coin: 1". What does this mean and does it make my coin any more special than the MS69's that I have seen on the internet? I inherited this coin and on the back of the slab there is a sticker that my father had put on it that say that it is "one of sixty" and he had a price of $1200 on it.

Does anyone have any additional info on what I might have here?

I can't help much except to observe that This coin is legitimately scarce in nice condition.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Can't you contact PCGS and ask them? They should be able to tell you.

PCGS sometimes lists the Series & Coin number and sometimes doesn't. I've never understood why but perhaps they have changed their labeling from time to time. I don't believe the Series & Coin number are relevant to the value of your piece.

You have a very nice and valuable coin. Although the PCGS Price Guide is optimistic, you should have little problem getting $300 for the coin should you choose to sell it.
