Another example of a key date coin being overgraded. I would grade it at F-15.

Here's another funny one from the same seller (whose ID is very appropriate by the way)

Candidate for SGS for sure. XF45 at best.

Well, that first auction is almost over and the current bid is $83. So unless there is a last minute run up on price it is selling for a quarter the ( RedBook) value of the coin. I'll be curious to see what the MS-66 one goes for.

The second one would just make EF-45.

I just looked through his feedback. While most feedback was positive, the great majority of the negative feedback related to the coins being overgraded. It seems pretty clear that he uses ANGS for the purpose of getting slabbed coin that will be overgraded. If you were to buy from him I'd say you'd have to look at it as though it was raw. Even then I probably wouldn't buy from him because if he is willing to mislead customers from the start I can only imagine what he'd be like if you had any problems.

Edit: Looking into ANGS more, reports suggest it may be nothing more than self-slabbers trying to give their coins a more legitimate appearance. I'd provide a link, but I'm not sure if the mods want me linking to another coin discussion forum. But it is easy to find on a Google search. What isn't so easy to find on a Google search is a website or any contact info for ANGS.

Maybe he's trying to say that the coin has been uncirculated for the entire time he owned it! Heck, I've made sure that my collection has remained uncirculated since I started it 20 years ago!
