I would say it looks 64 to me. Somewhat weak strike, but there is very clean fields which indicate there was no circulation.

If clean fields mean weak strike then I agree MS-63 or MS-64

I am no expert, but wouldn't the marks on the cheek and lack of strong hairlines distract from this coin? Just a question.

Overall, the fields are exceptionally clean, that's probably the reason PCGS called 65. I think the strike is stronger than the pics suggest.

I was going to say 63 mainly because I thought I saw die cracks on the reverse. Could have just been the lighting. Also, is that a partial double stamped nine?

New Orleans Morgans is notorious for weak strikes so one has to take that into consideration when grading O mintmark coins

I started thinking 63. Moved to a 64. I guess PCGS thinks 65. I don't but for people who buy slabs the higher the number the better.
