I going to say VG-10 maybe slide to F-12, I don't think there is enough detail in the hair to make F-15.

From our CCF US Coin Facts:

Capped Bust Dime General Grading Standards

AG3 About Good - Details clear enough to identify.
G4 Good - Date, letters, and stars discernible. Bust outlined, no details.
VG8 Very Good - Legends and date plain. Minimum of 3 letters in LIBERTY.
F12 Fine - Full LIBERTY. Ear and shoulder clasp visible. Part of rim shows both sides.
VF20 Very Fine - LIBERTY distinct. Full rim. Ear and clasp plain and distinct.
EF40 Extremely Fine - LIBERTY sharp. Ear distinct. Hair above eye well defined.
AU50 About Uncirculated - Traces of light wear on only the high points of the design. Half of mint luster is present.
MS60 Uncirculated - No trace of wear. Light blemishes.
MS63 Select Uncirculated - Some distracting marks or blemishes in prime focal areas. Luster may be impaired

From these grading standards, I go with better than VG8 since all the LIBERTY is visible, but less then F12 since I can't see any ear or clasp, so I go to VG10.

Very nice original coin with typical circulation wear. A nice example with no dings, uneven wear or gouges. Nice, Mr. Wheezy!

Thanks for the General Grading Standards Moe ( where do you find that online? )
After reading that and both of your comments I think VG-10 is correct.
For me, it has eye appeal for such a low grade.
There are probably a majority in the same grade that I wouldn't look at twice. I think I better keep hunting for more detail. I can have this one for just under $40.00 to the door which is an OK price but if I am patient, I think I can do better for the same money with more detail.
Thanks for helping me with that decision.

Wheezydog,
I have been collecting (very slowly) bust Half Dimes, bust dimes.
In my humble opinion you can get a much nicer coin for about 10-15 bucks more. It takes a lot of time and patience but well worth it.

Mr. Wheezy! It's right under your nose, my friend!

Look to the top left of this page. (Yes. The one you're on now... You may have to scroll up...)

See the "Navigation" section in red? There are LOTS of very cool things going on under these click-on areas.

Go down to US Coin Facts.

Find your coin type.

It lists all the US type coins, mintages, and for most coins a grading scale. It is the Bomb!

Thanks to Bobby & Susan all over again! It's things like this that make this site as good as it is!

It's a pretty nice coin wheezy, dark but original surfaces, no real problems, etc.

I agree vifh VG=10. If it only showed the ear and clasp then no problem with F.
