Thai Baht 19c Unknown - Coin Community Forum

thai-vic Pillar of the Community Thailand 1509 Posts	Posted 12/11/2009 9:00 pm I have a book on Thai coins already but I just can't identify this specific one. Very similar in size and weight to Thai baht (silver, with the number of stars around the edge confirming it as a baht) ascribed to King Rama IV (1804-1886). However the design on the obverse is slightly different to the ones I have pictures of. It's the orientation of the flowers I can't pin down. I've been offered this one so I only have the scans to go on at the moment but the known ones can be worth a few dollars. Could this be an unknown? A couple went for 4000 baht (approx. 120$) but one of about the same grade as I've been offered at a starting bid 2000 baht went unsold. Thanks again.
