Its snowing real hard here so grabed a bunch of estate cents and started looking, this one was worth a photo and question, what do I have here and is it worth sending in to PCGS?

as you may be able to see, there is a doubling along the bottom of the NINE, then to back side of the 4, a bit on the curve of the back side of the 3, and at the bottom of the D thats hard to see.

Looks like a normal Steel Cent from what I can see. Not sure what we should be seeing on your coin? The roughness is from the plating with zinc, but I suspect this is a reprocessed coin. It leaves a rough finish from this re-plating process. The line under the nine is just die wear accented with the re-plating. Keep in mind that coins from this year were from steel dies and steel planchets. Creating excess wear on the dies.

It does look like Die Deterioration to me.

it's nothing special and to the forum. A great place to learn. Hope you are enjoying the snowfall. Here in south FL we had record heat 3 days this week (90 or more). Only going to be 80 or so today. Sorry.
