I have an interesting 2007 loonie that I found in a roll. This loonie doesn't have the plating like a regular loonie, its the same as a 25 or 50 cent coin. I decided to see how much the coin weights, it was 6.4 grams. I went to a coin show last year, and was told that it could be a planchet error. One of the dealers at the show offered me $500 for it, but I didn't want to sell it, due to the fact that I didn't know what kind of error it might be. I would like to know if anyone can tell me what type of error this might be. I also would like to know how much these type of errors are worth.
I have a 2006 the same way I sent it in to ICCS for grading and it come back electroplating error on the certification card and a grade of AU-55 I found mine in pocket change. As for value I have no idea what something like that is worth I never attempted to sell mine either but I would think $100.00 upward?
