Okay. lets have a dolar size coin with Anthony on one side and Shriver on the other!!!
Sorry, poor sense of humor.
Keep the Presidents. You can make all the comments you want about "Dead Presidents," but are you aware of the contributions made to this country by Washington, Jefferson, FDR, and Lincoln?
Let's do change the obverse often -- Liberty, Eagles, patriotic themes, etc.

Gary, forgive my ignorance; which Shriver do you refer to? web search came up with ; Pamela Shriver : Tennis player, Robert Shriver : Some Yale graduate, politician, A.Schwarzenegger's brother-in-law Maria Shriver : That guy's sister - journalist Loren James Shriver : retired astronaut Lionel Shriver : journalist + author plus a couple of more:) As far as I get it, all of these fit in your joke:) but what are you gonna do, I'm a curious guy

Renal: Sorry, I should have been more specific. It's a commemorative U.S. Silver Dollar, 1995. Commemorates the Special Olympics. The Shriver is Eunice (Kennedy) Shriver.. She undoubtedly is a kind, caring person who has done much for the Special Olympics program. However, many feel that it is one of the ugliest coins ever minted by the U.S. Mint. If you have a Red Book, look it up and see what you think. Let's face it, Susan B. and Eunice may have done some great things, but they aren't overaly attractive -- or, at least their coin image leaves much to be desired.

I checked the mentioned designs, and I agree that the coins are not the exact dream coins. But I always think that diversity is a good thing. These coins may not be the best designs for you or for me, but I'm sure some people may consider them among their favourites. Thanks for the info, I've learned about one more coin

Circulating or Commemorative buffaloboy5? Circulating should remain status quo for historical purposes. Commemoratives - the skies the limit of the imagination!
Perhaps most coin collectors are living in the reality of what's available and not what an individual would like to see. There are numerous private firms and individuals in the manufacturing of "fantasy" coins. Which is what I believe you are in reference to.
I prefer the age, condition and history behind the mintage of coins, Domestic or World. That's what makes coin collecting enjoyable, educational and real.
If, however, I were to have a "fantasy" coin...I'm afraid I would not be awfully creative - Observe, the flag of the original Colonies, Reverse, our current U.S. flag. Perhaps, this could also be my "fantasy" for each World/Countries coin as well. Pretty "traditional".

Honestly, I think Buffaloboy has had the most creative vision yet. There is far too much diversity in America to only draw on the Greco-Roman influences of traditional US coinage of the past.

I do beleive buffaloboy has a creative vision. Diversity is not always bad,it seperates us,makes us unique individuals. If we all liked the same things,we would all be bored.Everybodys thoughts and oppinions matter,it makes the world go around.:)sn31.

Diversity and Free Speech are what the U.S. is all about. Atleast, it use to be. Still is in many respects. I too enjoy buffaloboys vision! I however, am more conservative in what I would like as an historical representation of the U.S. and World Countries as well. Coins are just that!
