That sounds like a lot of work for $3.00 in silver but at long as you had fun, that's all that matters.

Often times it is the journey that matters most. Nice find!

Finding silver quarters nowadays is certainly an accomplishment! I rarely buy rolls of quarters, but do occasionally looking for the last couple Denver State Quarters I need and any territory quarters. I bought 4 rolls yesterday (along eith 130 rolls of nickels) and was pleasantly surprised to find a 1962. I can't remember the last time I found a silver quarter from circulation or roll searching.

I was thinking of expanding my roll searching to dimes and quarters, and getting the brinks rolls...in the plastic. That way I could just scan the edges for silver. anyone tried this?

The majority of the silver dimes and quarters in my collection I have found this way. (15-20 years ago). I had a job as a mgr in a store that got alot of change from Brinks (perks of the job). However the amount of silver found dwindled as the years marched on. A few months back I bought a couple of boxes of dimes and found no silver. I'll stick with half dollars for finding silver. IMO searching nickel boxes for silver is more productive than searching dimes or quarters. (The non collecting community is unaware of silver War Nickels and therefore are regularly still found)

I searched 460.00 in quarters and found a 1946 silver canadian quarter. It was all worth it to me.

I remember the feeling I got after searching all skunkers... and then right at the end... one single silver dime. I remained excited for the next three or so days.

lol thanks David, when I found it I just jumped up with excitement! After the holidays I plan on searching some boxes from pennies to halves, I don't even care if I find only one silver per box lol if that. I am completely hooked on any attempt to find me some silver. not long ago, my same grandfather was handed a merc at Walmart and he told me snatched it right away because he knew it wasn't an ordinary dime. turns it out it was one of the best looking mercs I own. He seems to be my good luck charm lately. Now he checks all of his change for any goodies for my collection

When I was still living near Detroit I received a 1948 silver canadian quarter in change when I bought carryout Chinese food. 1948 is one of the scarcer dates in the series.
