I have recently obtaind an error dime that looks as if it never got a rim. it hass th full plaid layes intact, wheighs exactly the same as a normal dime, but the core is recesed about 1/2-1/3 millimeter. I cannot get a photo, but Id like to know if anybody has seen anything like this, as I cant find this error on-line.

exactly right, also , there is reeding on the clad, and the rim is not raised as much as it should be. I might be able to take a pic of this with my loupe showing it, but my camera is to stuffpy to do that on its own.

I should have asked in the first post ,but you did not mention the date of the dime.

so the rims are there just minimal ? as compared to a same date dime ?

the date of the dime is actualy higher than the rims it is from 1965. I have created a macro lens for my camera wiith loupe and tape, it works better than most ive used!

The dime has been subjected to an acid or similar chemical,, I had that in mind , but the pics confirm it .

Exactly where my mind was before seeing the images, then after seeing the images I was 100% sure of it.
