I have a penny that has a head and tail printed on one side, just the tail on the other side. I do not know much about coin collecting and I was just searching for a little more information about something like this. Is it called something special? Is it worth anything?

Hi photo_fixer

We will need larger pics to be sure what you have,, but I can tell you this people do some strange things to cents !!

There are legit errors like this most often die clash errors, but like I said we will need larger clear pics to see whats up with your coin.

If it is genuine it will be worth something. If it is manufactured it will still be worth one cent. Is the tail that is seen on the Head side of the coin a reverse image or a positive image?

Reverse images can be manufactured with as little as Two Cents and a hammer.

Post better photo and you'll get some expert advice.

I just checked out the photo you have a link to. There is alot going on with that coin besides just the reverse image of the "tails". From the top of the head to the date there seems to be additional metal, I can't tell if someone has soldered or welded something to the coin. Definitely interesting.

well looks like a press job to me because you can clearly see "ATES of AM" of "UNITED STATES of AMRERICA" is backwards which is a positive sign of it being a squeeze job "LIBERTY" reads correctly behing Lincoln but under lincoln you can see the letters I mentioned backwards

without better pics,, my opinion is that what is seen on the coin is glue or something similar.

two coins glued together and then seperated.

Here is a new image. I tried to make it as big as possible and I lightened the image up so maybe detail could be seen a little better. Thank you all for responding. Their is extra metal on that side of the penny. It does look like the "ATES of AM" is backwards on it though. Does that mean it is not worth anything?

It looks like a glue job (probably elmers glue). Soak it in water for a while and they glue layer should peel off. The lettering of "STATES OF AMERICA" is incuse (depressed, not raised). I dont think that it is physically possible for it to be extra metal and a reverse impression.

It's nothing more than glue on another coin with this one laid on top of it until dry. There is no premium value for coins with glue on them.
