The image is really too small to tell for sure, but I can tell you the difference between a crack and a Cud.

A die crack will be raised metal on the coin that filled in a recess in the die caused by stress - a crack. It will have jagged edges and will look more or less like a reverse impression of a scar.

A Cud is the result of a crack forming near the edge of the die that eventually broke completely away from the die leaving a totally blank area. What this transposes to the coin is a raised, unstruck area of the coin that looks like a blob of metal near the edge of the coin. A Cud always involves a piece of a die breaking completely away at the edge...so from judging the area of the coin you imaged, it's definitely not a Cud.

without digging into my dimes, I believe I have one basically just like yours,,

I attributed the many small raised areas to die damage, not a crack or a Cud. I think the die may have been mishandled dropped or banged causing dents in the die.

a Cud must touch the edge of a coin. it is a die chip or crack
