...running from rim to Tom's nose? How do you tell them apart? I thought of putting this on ebay as the Pinnochio nickel(extremely rare of course)

A crack at this spot is common. I used to keep them when I found them but stopped when I had several rolls. Most of the nickels I had were from the 1990's or early 2000's.

Die cracks always have very sharp edges and are usually jagged. They are the 'filling' of a crack in a piece of metal, which cracks a lot like concrete. Die gouges are just that - tooling cuts in the die that result in raised humps or straight lines in the coin that generally have somewhat softer lines and are usually not jagged in any way. They can be curved, but aren't jagged.
