It is a modern fantasy California fractional , not a real one. I woud agree that the link provided by Kena is the place to do some searching.

anytime you see a bear on the Reverse its a fantasy piece and usually contains no gold. No original California Gold coins has the Bear on it only these type of pieces that are made mostly for tourists and stuff

Specific gravity says its 90.2 % gold (17.89) its paper thin and weighs 0.64 grams I am incline to go with the fantasy piece crowd however.

some were struck in Gold from what the webpage Kenya posted says so maybe you got one of those but still it wasn't a california Gold coin that was made in the 1800's because none of them have the bear on the Reverse
