Chances are these never saw WW II as "blood silver", as some you have stated after viewing them. Nevertheless, the method used to misrepresent their nature is offensive. I have a number of German coins bearing swastikas that do not offend me nearly as much as these do. To profit from someone else's perceived misfortune is not my idea of an exemplary business practice.

I know this thread is old but I am still trying to spread the word about these FAKES. As a militaria collector too, I did a fair bit of research and finally wrote an article regarding the bars mentioned.

Please everyone, read my article at:
http://www.mercierarmory.com/milita...article.html

and be sure to pass it around to everyone you know. People are throwing a lot of money away to this scammer and he needs to be stopped. I have already contacted the authorities but the damage has already been done.

I must not be a real collector. For philosophical, psychological, and moral reasons, I would avoid these like the plague.

I just wonder why they would produce silver bars at a time when silver was valued less than nickel

they do look fake, if they can melt silver, then they could at least make better looking stamping dies

Maybe that "999" was a way to fool a potential buyer, especially if you buy into the "666" legend of Revelation. It's easy to believe that Hitler had a connection with 666 and forget about the bar's actual weight and fineness.
