We can talk about how stupid this was next week

If there really is a 21 and 21-D in those slots....then I'm thinking it wasn't stupid. Time will tell.

I emailed the seller and asked him if those 2 coins were in the right places, so I'll know before he ships them. I figures that with 37 coins present....and folks paying as much as 150 a roll for walkers sometimes, especially if there are some earlier dates....then how far wrong could I go. If that's a 21-D, it's in pretty nice condition.

I'll keep you all posted. Sometimes these work out...sometimes they don't.

Two coins are clearly visible in the 21 and 21D slots. If you don't receive those coins, I think you can get a refund on the grounds the item you received was not as described.

I wonder if there's a 38-D?

It's strange to me that folks sell stuff without even researching it. There's no entry exam for ebay sellers though. Sometimes in these deals "you eat the bear"...and sometimes "the bear eats you". It makes it fun. It could turn out that all of the coins in the lower half of that picture are actually on page 2.

After looking at it...I thought so too. There could still be a 38-D...or not.

Yeah, good luck, but in reality I really doubt it. Keys are usually the last coins people buy, so a set of 37 will likely be keyless unless stated. My first thought was page 2 as I've seen photos of sets like this many times that gave the illusion of a hole being filled that really wasn't. The 38-D slot is directly behind the 21-S in my Dansco walker album. However, it looks like you have some semi-key obverse mintmarked walkers. I understand the fun, and sometimes these risks pay off. :-)

I wish you good luck my friend! You never know about ebay things until you hold them in your hand. I did however, purchase a few things off of ebay in the past some turned out okay, others not so good. I took the picture off of ebay and pasted it to a software page that I have to Blew it up. It appears to me that you can see through those holes (21 and 21 D.) showing a silhouette of a person and the green grass/pickup truck behind the page. It looks to me like there is some type of white felt backing that has lite imprints on it of walking liberties as if to show the collector where the coin would go. I hope my eyes are deceiving me and you get a great deal! It is a very tricky photo and what scares me for you is that disclaimer of not being a coin collector and knowing nothing about coins. Seems like it's kind of a get out of jail free statement. Good luck and please keep us posted.

Make a hundred here...lose a hundred there on a bad gamble. It all works out in the end. I started back into coins about a year ago, selling a collection that was consigned to me. I ended up making about 700 dollars on the deal. Without going into too much detail, I can say that I've done well more times than I've done poorly....though this time I think I'll probably need a band-aid.

like I always say things have a funny way of working out. Until they are throwing dirt on my face because I'm in the bottom of a hole I think I'm doing pretty good! Hey, it's good to be a great new year!

The No Returns Accepted should be the answer to your question.
