Actually I think you are both right, Paypal must be accepted but if the buyer wishes to pay a different way the seller can accept. Though the seller cant ask the buyer to pay with something other than paypal. If that makes any since.

he emailed me back and said.. Quote:
i call myself lousyphotos, because thats exactly what I do, I take lousyphotos.so thats why there are no photos.i wouldn't even know how to minimize the camera lens to take a photo of a coin.most of them are unciculated to the best of my knowledge, the coins are part of an estate I have been liquidating for a while.alot of the coins have been scrapped for the silver content, there was no numismatic value in many of them. Many of the coins were found in graves as I understand it,they were put on the eyes of the deceased, and the person that owned the coins was I would imagine in the funeral business.Years ago, when a person died, their eyes sometimes would not close, embalmers today stich the eyelids closed on a corpse, years ago, they didn't do that , so just before the wake ,they covered the eyes with coins, a befitting way of dressing the corpse or loved one.and thats how they buried them.the paper money is still not up for sale, but will be, although I am not a numismatic collector, there are some interesting notes, some with Indians on them and buffalos and there are about 3 $5000 bills, 1 $10,000 bill, several monetary notes from other countries and a bunch of other notes I haven't even looked at, first we want to sell the coins. I have an idea, since you think that you get 10 times what I am asking, why don't you just buy the lot for what I am asking and then you can get the 10 times. Now, thats a deal.

I'll tell you what, you list a coin and say you accept cash and money orders and see how long it takes me to get it yanked. OK? Only took me a few hours on New Years Eve to get a few dozen of this guy's removed.

scubu there is no denying you fail to know proper ebay policies. I guarantee you as a top rated power seller I have spent more on postage in one month than you have sold in your life. Your incorrect and false statements must be stopped so you don't disseminate any more wrong information to the other other members here, that is a great disservice to them. Please do some research before you post completely wrong information about ebay again.

scubu; I used the link in your signature to report the seller.. here is the message I sent to ebay: Quote:
Seller has told me in an email than many of the coins he is trying to sell had been stolen out of graves.
An excerpt from the email that was sent to me:
"Many of the coins were found in graves as I understand it,they were put on the eyes of the deceased, and the person that owned the coins was I would imagine in the funeral business.Years ago, when a person died, their eyes sometimes would not close, embalmers today stich the eyelids closed on a corpse, years ago, they didn't do that , so just before the wake ,they covered the eyes with coins, a befitting way of dressing the corpse or loved one.and thats how they buried them."
This was also said vaguely in his own listing:
"this is a collection to think about if you really are a collector,a dealer or ? to see the lot of coins, first you must understand that none of the coins have ever been graded. they are all raw, they are all in those little coin holders too and many of them have been wrapped up in cotton and in other fabric for many ,many years. some of them haven't seen light for over 200 years, and yes, some of them, many of them were buried, not exactly buried treasure ,but buried ."
I love old coins but I do not want to purchase the fruits of a grave robber's labor. And to my under standing this is in violation e-bay's polices. I wonder if that is the kind of thing that will get him banned off of ebay?

I've had quite a few auctions yanked due to the seller asking for money orders for payment. All it takes is somebody to report it.

Well I have heard of people putting copper on the eyes of the dead ( I actually keep two copper coins on me at all times) to pay the boatman to ferry their souls across the river to the land of the dead so their souls would not be stuck on earth for eternity.

His auctions are back up with the paypal icon active but a statement to say he will not take paypal. I reported a few but I doubt I have the pull certain other members of this forum have on ebay
