I am thinking about purchasing one of these coins and wanted to get other peoples opinion on which one I should purchase to upgrade the one that is in my 7070 right now. The 1876 is graded MS-63 by ANACS and the 1890 is graded MS-61 by ANACS. The price is close to the same in relation to the Numismedia price guide for the respected grades

I'd go with the 1876, but I'm a tone freak. Old album toning I'd bet.

I would buy them both! Each one is fantastic in its own right. If you don't take them both I'll take the one you don't. If you want to p.m. me then we can discuss the details.

1876, for the color and cleaner strike on Liberty.

I am really considering doing exactly that. I already purchased the 1876 but may go get the other as well

Yeah, I saw both for sale and I really wanted the 1890 but it was a little too pricey for me, and I had already bought a lot of SLQ's. I like the 1890 more, I love the simple toning of it.

yeah I liked them both also and thats why I started this topic because I really couldn't make up my mind, I really liked the toning on the 1890 more so than the 1876 but liked the centennial date of the 1876 and the strike of the coin also. I guess I did the right thing and just purchased both and then once they both arrive I will have to decide which one will reside in the album

the 1890 has already arrived now just waiting on the 1876 to get here. if the 1876 looks in hand like it looks in those pictures I may crack open the 1890 because I think everyone may think the 76 is AT if its cracked out. But I will decide that once I get the other coin in hand, should be here sometime within the next few days

I agree Bryan, both coins are incredible. I am leaning toward the 1890. I love that rose toning. I have always loved that color toning on silver. That 1876 is really beautiful!
