I picked up around $17.00 worth of 1972P Ike's from my local bank today.-

All of them show Islands below Florida, some are directly below and others are to the west of Florida.

This was the only Ike that looked different.

Is this the scarcer Variety II Reverse?

I don't collect Ike's so would appreciate help/verification from the Ike experts on this one.

Thanks.

I'm no specialist either, and have been looking for one too. It appears to be the type 2.

Thanks for the input.

I checked there and a couple of other sites and I think this is one of them.

This definitely looks like the 1972P Type 2 Reverse! :)

This is Variety 2 and it is scarce on a 1972 copper-nickel Ike from the Philadelphia Mint.

Used for all Proofs of 1971, all silver issues of 1972 and very few copper-nickel, Philadelphia Mint pieces of 1972.

Thanks,
Bill
