Clinton: Try cropping your images so only the coin is displayed. I can't grade from those pics but will say it looks AU at least, probably MS.

The pictures are too small for accurate grading.
Looks to be AU to MS but the surfaces look funny, very dull, as if it's been improperly cleaned. However, it could just be the pictures.

Sorry guys. I realized I was doing my cropping wrongs after your posts. Here at two new photos which should be a bit better for you to give input on. I appreciate the time as always on this. I will say that I don't think this one has been cleaned. It doesn't show the lines in the field that indicate it. But I'll leave it to your expertise to give me input on that as well. Clinton

Much better pictures!
Sorry, but I think this coin has been 'lightly' cleaned. The surfaces seem dull and are not lusterous. You don't have to have lines in the fields, that's really for whizzed coins, this coin has been dipped IMO. The black copper formate spots on the reverse give it away. Sorry....it's just MHO and I hope I'm wrong.

What is going on with the vdb? It looks more like vba! Am I seeing things correctly?

BadThad, that is disappointing to hear for sure. I'll be glad when I am able to tell this for sure when I look at a coin. Despite the cleaning, what do you think on a grade?
Saruma, it is the photo's angle. The D is clearly a D and not an A on the coin itself.

I agree with Thad on the dip, and the coin appears to be ~MS62 details. nlp

I agreed, MS-62 details.
I think this was a brown coin someone dipped long ago to make it red. In the future, always be leary of copper with the black copper formate spots. These are almost always from an improper cleaning. Don't confuse these with carbon spots, the formate spots have a fuzzy look whereas carbon spots are very tight and well-defined.
