I signed up at Teletrade a few weeks ago and just received a letter saying I was selected to receive a free 1 year membership to the ANA. I knew they were having this promotion, but didn't expect to win. Guess this is my 1st "find" of 2010! |

I took advantage of Teletrade's offer this summer and I have been enjoying my free membership for about four months now.

Just signed up for teletrade. Got a message that said I had a "chance" for a ANA membership. Is this a drawing or something? |

Just got a letter in the Mail on Saturday that said I had been chosen for the free membership! Yeah said that ANA would be sending me a welcome pack! Sweet!! God Bless, Brad |

yeah, except me.... cause I questioned Teletrade shipping cost of $ 50 to Canada, and their discriminating promotional offers. Whenever they have a promotion or offer, it is for US coins only.... hidden in the small print. I sent an email to the Boss there and I know he received it and passed it on to one of his people. ( I use readnotify to track my emails)This person called me and, without any exaggeration, read me the riot act.I have never experienced such an impolite person. simply very overpowering and NOT allowing another my input at all. his exact words before I hang up on him: that is the way it is done here. result: for simple and justified questions which I asked I get blocked from their bidders list. The irony however is, they still send me all their promotional stuff.....still try and solicit items for their auctions. it sure has come a long way for being penalized for asking straight forward, but perhaps (business-) politically sensitive questions. I gues it is their choice how to run their business...but..... Personally, for me and a few other people, we will never again patronize them. Edited by hhbkiddo

I've had a Teletrade account for years but I'll bet they only extend the ANA offer to entice new members. I won quite a few nice coins from Teletrade in years past and I appreciate their auction archives for researching sale prices. However, I haven't won any auction lots in a long time. Coins I like sell for too much and when I submitted coins to sell I felt I received too little. Also, they charge sales tax to buyers in California which adds an extra 8.75% to the final cost. Hhbkiddo, it sounds like they got really nasty with you for no good reason. IMO you won't sacrifice much by not doing business with them. There are many other dealers who will treat you with respect. |
