Does Dansco make a book/album that has a blank cover that will hold at least 6 pages. Where I could put in a blank page from cent thru dollar? (a blank dollar page, half page etc)
I want a collection where I can have a page full each denomination and put what ever coins I want to. I could mix Morgans and Peace dollars with commemorative dollars .. what ever I wanted.

Sort of like a type set .. but just the type coins I like best ..

Has anyone done something like that?

You could buy blank pages from Dansco. I don't know about a "blank" album. A Lincoln Cent album holds 8 pages. Interesting idea.

I've read on here somewhere that Dansco will make you any album you want. Might be a tad expensive, but if this is what you really want, it might be worth it. Sounds interesting. You might be able to get them to put "GoldRush58's Type Set" on the front.

SJUHawks - WOW that would be cool .. personalized name on the cover .. I would like that a lot. I would be happy with just the blank pages. Ratman .. I had to go look at my Lincoln album it has 9 pages .. that I would like. I could put in a mint set page and ... use it to put in year sets for birth years .. of grand kids .. parents .. grandparents.
Put in a blank ASE page. I am sure I could figure out how to use 9 pages. I think I would make it a sort of family theme book .. to pass down to the next generation. I will check out Dansco's web page see what they have.

If I had enough money to start, partially complete, or finish a 7070, I'd get a customized cover with my name on it:

"MArainman's United States Type Set"

I have a few of these "blank" albums.

Three of them have the twelve-pocket vinyl pages for 2x2's. I use two of them for the dark-side coins I have. I have one to hold the miscellaneous extras that I cannot seem to part with.

One has two each of cent, nickel, dime pages to hold my Indian Head cents, Buffalo nickels, and Mercury dimes.

Another has two each of cent, nickel, and dime pages to hold ultra-modern circulation coins. I did this because none of my other Danscos have room for additional pages without replacing the binders.

Jbuck - that is somewhat what I have in mind. I have a lot of coins boxed up in 2x2's these I sort of forget I have .. some I would like to display better.
So want to be able to put any coins I want in it, after starting this thread .. really thinking of starting a family coin book, maybe let others select/buy coins that would go into this book that will be passed down. I have a lot of mint, proof and year set from family members
these could be displayed too. I will be ordering one this week ..

I think this is a really cool idea...I might have to borrow it eventually. Here's the range of blank Dansco albums available:
http://www.valleycoin.com/index.php..._409_562_690
Then you can fill them with one (or more) page each like this cent one:
http://www.valleycoin.com/product_i...cts_id=19065 through dollars...
or go completely blank with the mm size pages:
http://www.valleycoin.com/index.php..._562_692_688
I like it!

I have done exactly what you suggest, and am quite happy with it. I have Danscos for the current coins, but have a mixed album for older coins. I have my IHC with a few flying eagles, Buffalo nickels, Mercury dimes, and walking liberty and Franklin halves all in the same album. I'm not excited by Barber or Standing Liberty quarters, so I don't have a quarter page.

The biggest advantage is that since nothing is printed, you can mix and match however you like--flying eagles, indians and lincolns all on the same page, my gosh!

I've dealt with both valley coin and wizard, with good experiences.

Thanks for the input wheatiefan. I have been looking at the different pages and trying to figure out which ones will be best for me. I really think if I can get it the way I want it will end up being my favorite album.

I have been looking at both valley coin and wizard, both seem good online. I had made a order to valley coin last week (coin tubes).. just waiting for delivery.

I know I'm fighting a Dansco fan club but I've done many things like that with Whitman Classic Albums. I've pruchased blank covers and blank pages to make all sorts of Albums. Many of the Whitman Album covers are oversized in the first place so many addtional pages can be added and they make all varieties. I've made Dime Albums with pages of Liberty, Mercury and Roosevelt dimes in one Album. naturally had to leave out the Proofs to make that one all fit. Similar with Flying Eagle, Indian Head and Lincoln Cents all in one Album and again, had to leave out the proofs. The one nice thing is Whitman makes sheets of press on Gold type letters and numbers that you can add professional looking information on the cover, each page and under the coins. You just line up the sheets and rub with a stick and you have really nice looking Albums. Presesntly have well over 100 Whitman Albums so a bit partial with that brand. But if your a Dansco fan, Whitman is just out of the picture.

Thanks just carl, I am open to all idea's. I have several Dansco albums so might be nice to keep them all the same. But I will take a look at the whitmans. What would you say is your favorite put together album.

So far I really like the Liberty Head/Mercury/Roosevelt Dime Album.Problem is way to many Roosevelt dimes. Lately I've been thinking of making one from Sitting Liberty to Mercury dimes all in one Album. The Liberty Head/Buffalo/Jefferson Nickel one I made comoes close to a favorite but not really a fan of the Jefferson nickels. The flying Eagle/ Indian Head/Lincoln Cent one is really just about ready to burst the hinges since it is about 10 pages.
Second famorite one is the Liberty Head/Standing Liberty Quarter Album.
Many other Albums are like 2 sets of Mercury dimes in one Album Binder with that noted on the cover. Two sets of Indian Head cents in one Album binder also. As I mentioned those press on Gold type letters/numbers really make it appear as if those are the way they are supposed to be. And as I also mentioned I can add the info below each coin in the blank Albums too.
Just some silly things that are fun to do in this hobby.

I have a Dansco Album that started as a 7070 type and I needed more space so I bought their blank 1 5/8 inch album and some unpunched pages from them to include many other coins. I bought the punch set on ebay and some coins you have to enlarge the holes with a dremel tool. I made a custom cover and labels in photoshop then printed on photo paper and lamenated. Take a look takes a few to load.
