I suspect its a magician coin. I have my doubts but hey I could be wrong...

Looks genuine. I'd feel more comfortable if it was in a PCGS slab.

Here are three examples in slabs (cent planchet, nickel planchet and SBA planchet)

Weakness in strike, especially beneath the date...not perfectly round in shape....edges aren't sharp...

It's real.

It is the only business strike coin with a collar that will accommodate any other business strike planchet but even then, a quarter planchet is probably the only one that is not ultra-rare since it is closest in size to a half dollar.

1974 Quarter Planchet weighs 5.7 .This one weighs 5.6 Considering what happened to it and everything else coppercoins said I would agree.It's Legit

It's out of round on "three sides" I believe it's been machined

The metal flow in the design elements bordering the edge is also an indicator of authenticity. It's real.
Error coin writer and researcher.
