I know me too, I even put it down then said maybe I need to take pic of it, then I could blow it up and view it, thats when I saw the split on the bottom left plus it looks like something near the center at the top. but we'll wait on chuck to see. thanks john1

It looks like damage to me too. It may, however, have the damage concealing what may have been an RPM. It's tough to call with an image alone.

Huh? It's obviously an RPM. It does have some damage, but damage doesn't split a serif open like that.
As to which one it is - good luck. There are too many of them for me to attempt identification without closer examination.

When I look closely at close up image of the "split" I see metal moved above the and to the left of the upper part of the "split". That leads me to still think that the split is a well placed ding:-) Still, a closer look would tell more.

Bill...you're missing the obvious mis-shapen profile of the mintmark and the split at the top. It's very obvious as an RPM.
