I thought I remembered reading here a while back that any 5 repeating numbers on a bill was considered "rare". I got a $100 from the bank today witha serial number of FK67779977B.

I don't expect it's worth any more than $100, am I correct, or is there some collectible value to this one?

Assume I can take the lack of response as an indication to go ahead and spend it?

If you had the five 7s in a row you might get a premium but fancy serial numbers are tricky, they tend to only be worth what someone will pay on a given day.

You could always throw it up for sale somewhere... no telling what people are looking for.

I would say the top two options are:

1. Keep it, if you can, and you're into serial #'s.

2. Sell it. Someone will give you a premium.

I wouldn't bother with that one unless the bill was almost minty fresh. If it had any marks, rips, creases, ect. I would pass it on.

I'd use it to play at least a round of Bull*#@% Poker first...
