although I do see some 'deviation'. I do not think it is strong enough to be considered as a wavey step coin.t sent some in too mr. neff similar too yours,they came back as non waveys.

It's definitely a wavy step coin. I believe it's strong enough to list, but I'm also seeing the detail at a molecular level. If it were backed out considerably, I might change my mind on that.

It's not the lighting...your image is drawn in too close to the coin. I would have to see it with less magnification.

That's a better overall look. While quite minor I believe it's interesting enough to be a listable doubled die. It's right on the fence.

As you're no doubt aware, BJ Neff does not consider "trails" and "wavy steps" to be doubled dies. He believes they are a form of design distortion caused by improper hubbing. I accept his theory as it seems to fits the observed facts better.
