This is a Victoria 1875 One Penny underneath the date is a mark 'H'mark.
The coin is well worn.

But has this coin been damaged with another strange mark on the rear?
Is this just a damaged coin worth scrap or something else, would really appreciate an experts eye on this one please..
cheers

Its been 'counter stamped' Some people feel the need to stamp thing on coins. Businesses used to sometimes counter stamp coins a s a form of advertising. others put stickers on them. if it were not for the damage I would have given it a G4. Again better pictures would help. Try cropping the original image so it shows just the coin and not so much background. That what when its re sized for posting it should be bigger.

1975 H is a common coin, even more common in this condition. Would have been better if it was 1874 or 1876, however, it's still old and counetrstamped, so it means soemthing to someone, like me, who is into counetrstamps as well. You should keep it, don't expect lots of quids from it but still an old penny is an old penny I guess:)
