Well I messed up, and I ended getting wrapped up in a bidding frenzy for a wonderful 1911 no mint mark Lincoln wheatie. Thing is I already had a (what I think) a MS64 RED example within my Lincoln Cent collection.
This new one I landed, I swear there isn't a mark on it, tons of lustre, RED and might even get a higher grade than 64.
Id like to get it slabbed and then determine if I should keep it or sell it. I got a good deal on it to boot.
My question is, does anybody know if the 2 Canadian grading companies out there are well versed and respected when it comes to grading American coinage?
Id hate to send this thing to the U.S then again, is it an acceptable and secure transaction?
Thanks

Grading Lincolns is no problem for Canadian TPG's, but the price you'll likely get for a US coin in a Canadian holder is less than optimal. Cost/time/effort no object, PCGS would be the best choice IMO. If you decide you want to keep it, the CCCS hard slab really shows off the coin inside quite well.

I don't live in Canada but PCGS and NGC are the two main certification companies here in the USA and the market shows that when you look at the coins sales. I just put a set together of all MS69 NGC graded American Eagles and they on some of the coins I paid a little extra to get the ones I wanted. PCGS is probably considered number 1 and NGC is considered number 2. Interesting the coins that are graded for the American Numismatists Association are graded by NGC and it's probably a special deal where they get theirs at a sweetheart deal to go with #2.

NGC allows ebay users to have coins graded, I assume without having to sign up for a subscription. Check out the page for more information:

That final price is painful, adanak (for the seller anyway). Here's another one from a while back. I felt a little bit guilty for the deal I got. Foreign coins just don't seem to fare very well in ICCS holders.
