$1 Million Dollar Gold Bullion Coin Video, How It Was Made

Interesting video, but in all honesty I am not that impressed. They cast five huge coins and painstakingly finished them by hand. It was an exercise with a lot of artistic work involved, but as far as the processes go, there is nothing ground breaking to me, in a technical sense.

I'm curious to know what they used to apply the "frosting". Looks like some kind of acid etch.

I also wonder if they couldn't have just manufactured a large slab of gold and CNC'd the piece and then finished it by hand.
