So a guy from work asked me to check out the coins his g'pa left him. Tons of silver, lots of it junk, from Roosevelts to Morgans. His g'pa had taped a number of the coins together about 30 years ago with masking tape. There are also a few coins with old scotch tape on them. Included in that is a 1902 S Morgan in AU and a 1921 Morgan in BU. Also, he has a razor sharp 1851 cent with a small bit of masking tape glue. What's the best method of removing the tape residue? Are there different treatments for the different metals?
