I'm considering this Liberty Seated quarter but the price is a touch high.

What grade would you assign to it?

I would say AU-58+ due to what I think is a light rub on Liberty's knee. otherwise I would say nice MS-63

I agree, either AU-58 due to slight rub on Liberty's knee, thigh, and breast, or MS-62 or MS-63. I think there are enough tiny nicks and hairlines to keep it out of consideration for a higher grade.

The price may be high but it is hard to find nice MS quarters from Carson City. If it does make the mint state cut it probably could find a buyer at close to high retail price. It's a looker!

I think it is technically an AU, but a TPG may very well give it an MS grade of 61 or 62. I've noticed on some of my early type coins, a TPG will give an MS grade to a coin that has full luster in the fields, even if there is a bit of rub on the devices. So, though I would grade AU-58; it could easily find its way into an MS slab.

I agree with the slight rub on the knee and thigh. As for how a TPG would grade I don't know. I would give it AU-58.

Proves once again that we have some pretty good graders here at CCF. It's in a DGS AU58 holder with a $439 asking price.

The price is MS60 retail territory but might be worth it....
