I even waste my time posting these. Maybe it can help another newbie recognize the difference in a double die and Machine Doubling (UNITED).

This is a 1982 Small Date, and like all of these, I get a little excited right before I check it out...just in case it's the big one.

Thank you, I better pay more attention. I have been working my way through 2 boxes of cents. So far I found a few minor die clashes,(3) 1998 Wides, a bunch of minor die cracks, one with Machine Doubling, and one with a 45 degree rotated reverse. Also found 8 wheaties so far but nothing special.

I believe your small date is a zinc....worth keeping just because of that. It's the lowest population of the 7 different varieties.
