I have come across only 1 fake £2 coin, which I refused to accept in change from McDonalds. The cashier disputed that it was fake and dropped it back in his drawer but it was particularly shiny so I looked at it expecting it to be a 2014 or 2015 coin, it was actually dated 2011 and it had no edge inscription what-so-ever. Aside from that it was pretty convincing but the milling around the edge seemed overly deep too. I kind of wish I had accepted it now, but as a matter of principle I had to point out it was fake. This is the only bi-metallic kind dated 2011 with any examples so far reported with no edge inscription. Was the deep reeding like on that? I got a Gymnastics about a week ago at the local supermarket, and changed £10 for a bag of 50p's at the bank and pulled a Canoeing, a Boccia and a Rowing. Then I got a Cycling at the supermarket on Saturday and an Archery from the local Subway restaurant today! I haven't seen one since and I have been keeping my eyes open. I don't know where these things are being made, the majority of fake pounds came out of Essex about 10 years back but I think that guy has long moved on. Report this Post to the Staff
