I ran across this 1856 and couldn't turn it down but I don't collect them. The coin is pictured below!

There is dealer at a flea market I frequent that has a lot of those that look like that. His prices are really cheap so I might start a collection of those.

I just looked it up on the PC GS website which I am a member of, they only minted a little over 500,000 of that date and mint mark. They estimate there are only about 500 of them left in existence. That surprised the daylights out of me, I don't collect them so I don't know what I'm going to do with it.. I mostly collect the Seated halves as far as seated liberty go.

i collect the Seated quarters, I have a dansco album for them, I know what you mean, I'm a sucker for low grade ones for cheap. I have put it off for a while and have been trying to finish my 7070

do any of you two have an 1856 New Orleans mint quarter? Who would be interested in a quarter like this? They are quit rare I'm told!

They are a bit rare, 968,000 minted. Cool coins!

You should start a collection of Seated Liberty quarters! (It just takes one to have a collection...)

Here's mine:

well how much should I ask for it and where should I sell it? I'm really not into these, not that it's not a beautiful category to collect but right now I'm up over my head in other things. Any input would be appreciated, thank you!

Rest in Peace
