I dont see anything that jumps out at me as far as Die Doubling goes, but I'm at a disadvantage looking at pics.

Best to wait for some other responses .

Look at the A in state, left side of the T, the E, the O is doubled but can't really see in the pic due to the glare, the first A in AMERICA, the horizontal between the two legs is doubled and again the glare is making it hard to see,
"IN GOD WE TRUST"
the I, O, D, W, E, and the last T are doubled,
and the P mint mark is doubled.

Rick, my wife and I have obtained NUMEROUS of the new quarters that appear to have doubling on them. The BIGGEST problem with this is the fact that the Mint didn't spend as much time, money, or effort into creating die that would last. Remember, the State Quarters program was created to honor all 50 states. With this in mind, the dies had to be able to withstand only a certain number of strikes (or at least last thru a long enough time to get the job done). We have found about 10-30 ROLLS of the West Virginia quarters that had chunks of the "lamination" missing from either the obverse or reverse of the coins...wish I could tell you more, but they're not going to bring ANY type of premium anytime soon. I can see what you are talking about regarding the doubling, but unfortunately, it is merely a mechanical flaw in the die.

I WILL say that it's a great find to keep for your personal collection! I have a set of about 15-25 WV quarters that will stay in UNC condition with me until I grow old. The reason? There is a progression of die cracks on the obverse coming from Washington's neck and flowing to the left. (I consider them my own personal "discovery" set.)

Thanks for the replies. I do feel just do to the rarity i.e. no one has a graded double, it may be worth a little in the future. I just hope the future is sooner than later!!! LOL

Hi rickou812

Check out this site and see if you can recognise the doubling on your coin. What I see is Mechanical Doubling ,,I do not see any Die doubling.

Mechanical Doubling adds no value to the coin.

Much to my displeasure I think your right, it does look a lot like the pictures of the Mechanical Doubling.
