If you've been on the boards for awhile you've probably read my rants about buyers who email sellers making an offer on an auction coin that doesn't have a Buy-It-Now or Make Offer tag. This is done 99% of the time for cherry-pick varieties. The seller is unaware of the rarity and the potential buyer offers a fair price for the coin without the variety. I've bookmarked auctions for these only to come back later and see it sold with a BIN. No BIN was available when I bookmarked it.

Yesterday I was going through listings for 1880 Morgans and noticed a rare variety ( VAM 1A2). These are normally snatched up at high premiums. It was a true auction starting at .99 and no bids. It didn't have a BIN. I bookmarked the auction. About 45 minutes later I went back to my saved auctions and this one was still there without any change. I clicked on it to verify the VAM. After doing this I went back to my home page and refreshed. At the refresh there was now a BIN for $25. Wham-Bamm!! I got it!

I'm certain someone emailed the seller offering to buy it for this amount. Before they could get to the BIN, I sniped 'em! Sometimes you just get lucky.

Bahahaha I LOVE it.

Buyer will know exactly what happened. If in person things would obviously be different but it is a whole nother world online. Early bird gets the worm on BIN.
