I quit I opened some bank rolls and I have 3 bicentenial kennedys I spent the rest I am keeping the kennedys but I am no longer gonna collect coins. I am keeping the ones I have and if I go to the bank I may get a sacagawea and put it in my box but as of now I am done with collecting coins. Post your thoughts here.

Why? Did you lose interest or was it more to due with the cost?

Lost interest, I would rather hang out with girls than make them go away over a piece of metal. Coin collecting doenst really make girls swarm you.

You do know that you can do both right? Just don't let them know you collect coins or find a girl that does.

well, it was fun having you around. hope we were all able to help you learn and maybe you will someday come back to coins. know you are always welcome here. and liek other said there is alway time for coins. I have 3 kids on with special needs and a wife and I still find time for coin it may only be 20-30 min. a day. so if you really like coins then you can have both girls and coins.good luck in life and be safe

Cool: I would love to say that you're making the right decision for yourself. As an adult, I will say, that coins will last longer than girlfriends, but I really do understand. Not all adults have forgotten what it's like to be a young person. Should your interest in collecting return, I'm sure that we'll still be here and supportive of you. Good luck my young friend - I'll miss you!

Well keep an eye on your pocket change for silver and wheaties and put those in your box too, but do it when the chicks are not looking(ha ha). Good luck with whatever you choose to pursue.

I disagree. In my experience girls adore men with coins. Provided you are spending the coins on them and not display them in albums.

Best of luck.

That's cool.

Most coin collectors quit or become inactive for years between about 15 and 23. There's a good chance your interest will return sometime that you least expect it. We'll be here.

See you then. ;)

They swarm to me when I show 'em my 1913 Liberty Head Nickel reproduction and tell 'em it's worth 4.6 million.

Okay, go ahead, get it out your system.

Hi Cool

I gotta tell you the truth as I see it ,, you should not be giving up your interests to be endeared to another person, but really what should be happening is that you should be looking for someone with the same interests !!

But you know the decision is yours and I suppose I can support what you decide ,, Sooooo I hope that you find joy and happiness in whatever you do, and that the things that you pursue are healthy and wise !!

Girlfriends, that's going to be a lot of fun.

My advice is to put your collection in a box and store it away. Years from now when you open it again you'll discover the treasures that you have collected.

Agree, although I never stop collecting them I wasn't that interested. I had so many things to focus and so many experiences at that age (well, my case was 17-26)...

Hey.....That shouldn't change anything, I found some girls that collect coins(not as much as me though)

I can handle both. I'm 14.
You give them a silver coin(Worth only melt and tiny piece) and make it a chain, they should be happy :)
Try it :)
