Just found this beauty while going thru a few rolls. Nothing to do after this snow storm that dropped about 14" on the mid east coast. Do not understand how a coin in this condition is in a roll, let alone staying like this going thru the rolling process. This made the day better. Jim

Rick, I am between 63 and 64 on the coin and yes it make no sense. It came out of a bank roll but these were circulated coins. This roll included a very worm 1959-D and a 2008 with mirror fields. Guess someone had their coin collection cashed in at a coin star. Who knows, just glad I was able to salvage it before anything else happened to it. Jim

That is indeed a beauty ...... congratulations on the great find. It is amazing to me what is coming out of the old hoards today as .... IMHO .... the economy is forcing some folks to dump their old piles of coins for cash. I have found the 'equivalent' in Jefferson's while roll searching ..... most recently an absolutely lovely 1939-P .... No way your coin has been banging around in change for 68 years ..... it is a recent dump and found it's way into a new home. David

I see no reason why it wouldn't be MS64RD either, possibly even higher. I'd go MS65RD. The fields look to be free of abrasions, focal points clean, and a nice strike. Sweet roll find with nice toning! Looks like you have a $10-$15 coin right there!

MS-65 I am liking this coin more all the time. I still do not understand how a coin can go thru even one bank rolling process and not have at least a few nicks in it. Heck, I scratched a 1909 VDB the other day when it slide in my desk drawer. I have felt down and secured it with staples. When it slide across the staple, viola, scratch. Jim
