edreyes - When I posted the answer the pictures showed up. That looks to me like one of the brass Spiel-marks made in the 1800s as counters or gambling tokens. They are a very interesting series (many were made in Germany) but they were copies of US gold coins. I own quite a few different varieties. Here are a few.
